Departing the Caravan — Streaming Sunsets

I am here to give a quick update after our caravan. I will post more of the trip here when I can catch up.

We’ve spent the last three weeks exploring the Upper Peninsula of Michigan, also known as the UP. The hosts of the Ores, Shores, Waters and Lights Caravan have 12 years’ experience leading this caravan through the eastern side of the UP. With their guidance and suggestions, we visited many historical sites and explored natural and man made wonders. We enjoyed boat tours/ferries on the Great Lakes, Superior and Huron, including a day trip to Mackinac Island and a sunset cruise along Pictured Rocks.

The caravan consisted of 17 trailers representing 16 states traveling together for 15 days. We had an amazing time exploring each town and socializing with a group of people who share our same interests: love of nature, love of travel, and love of the Airstream lifestyle. It was natural to find a core group that shared our love of hiking and adventuring. At the end of each day we shared meals and adventures around the group campfire gathering.

On Sunday, September 27th, we parted ways with the 2026 Ores, Shores, Waters and Lights Caravan. We said ‘see ya down the road’ to our new friends.

We gathered our belongings, hitched up Belle, crossed the famous Mackinac Bridge and began our journey toward home.
